The temperatures are cooling and I'm starting to think about fall fashion. Now in my 40's I want to look polished and put together but comfort is also a top priority. I now realize that if I spend money on clothes or shoes that are uncomfortable I won't reach for that item and it sits in my closet - hence all these boots are flat or low heel.

All these boots I have had on repeat this season and last and they go with a variety of looks outfits. The most recent pair I bought is the nude lug boots. They are really comfortable although a little tough to slide on my foot, but possibly that is because I have a high arch.
First I started with Madewell Jeans that are a vintage wash, mid-rise and a straight boot-cut leg. I want you all to know that I have tried high waisted, baggy jeans that are are all the rage right now and they just don't look good on my body type. I'm petite (5'4) and I don't have much of a waist or hips, so the high waisted jeans just exaggerate the rectangle that is my body type and they look weird. And by weird I mean, totally hilarious. So I do what works for my body type above current trends.
These are my favorite boots that I got for Christmas last year. You can purchase them HERE.
I love the cowboy boots look but this boot is a little more understated, so like, for a regular day when you are not heading to a country concert. I also have this oversized sweater on repeat because it goes with so many things and is the perfect layer for cooler temps. You can purchase the sweater HERE. I wore this sweater over a green maxi dress to church last Sunday with the same boots.
Back to the lug boots I was talking about. These were my recent purchase this year and I'm loving the chunky look - but muted down a bit by the nude color. Being short, chunky boots can make me feel like a clown, but these are a good medium size. This plaid blazer I bought last year in two colors, and I wore it on repeat.
These combat style boots got a lot of love last year too, and I'm still wearing them. Again, like the lug boots, they are a slightly slimmer silhouette than some boots I looked at, and so they are a little more flattering for shorter petites. This is the same blazer in a gray plaid.
So here's my fall uniform - basic jeans and a t, and switching up jackets/sweaters and comfortable boots for different looks. I linked more items from my fall capsule wardrobe below.
